Local Investments

Sands New York is committed to being a collaborative partner and excellent neighbor to the organizations and residents of Long Island. This commitment is reflected in our work to meet the needs of the surrounding communities through partnerships, new programming, and community initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all.

Sands Cares Youth Empowerment Initiative

Sands established the Sands Cares Youth Empowerment Initiative as part of its global priority on youth education and mentoring. Creating opportunities for today’s youth builds tomorrow’s leaders and supports the company’s overarching goal of helping sustain thriving communities that are great places to live, work and visit. Launched in 2023 and specifically created for Long Island, the initiative has hosted a range of professional athletes and all-star role models for youth sports clinics, inspiring Long Island’s next generation of athletes to reach for their dreams. The Sands Cares Youth Empowerment Initiative is an active program with more events to come.

Sands New York Partners with Local Organizations to Enhance Quality of Life for All Long Islanders

Most recently, Sands New York donated $200,000 to Family and Children’s Association (FCA) to expand its services to Long Islanders in need. FCA, with its 140-year history of helping Long Islanders, has won state certification from the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) to provide problem gambling counseling and support to those who need or want help. FCA’s new Gambling Support and Wellness Centers will offer individual, group, and family counseling including financial counseling and planning to individuals and families experiencing problem gambling issues.

Our Sands New York Team is building bridges with people and organizations across Long Island.

Our first-ever “Season of Sparkle” event welcomed over 2,000 Long Islanders to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The event featured the live lighting of a 60-foot Christmas Tree alongside a Hanukkah Menorah and a Kwanzaa Kinara to officially usher in the holiday season on Long Island. “This is what Sands is all about,” said Robert Goldstein, chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands. “We believe in making meaningful contributions to the communities we operate in.”
